Old lithographed stone from around 1850, of course unique, format 22 x 16 cm, approx. 9 cm thick. There is only one print by Franz Hoke ("Search: Hoke").
The artist of the motif is not known. Lithography or stone printing is the oldest planographic printing process and therefore the forefather of this printing technique. The limestone used for this comes from the Solnhofen area, is around 150 million years old and is internationally considered to be an important fossil deposit (famous example: the
Archeopteryx, an ancient bird and bridge animal to dinosaurs). I received this unusual object from Andreas Brahm (Chimaira, Frankfurt), as well as numerous other works. Because of these achievements, he is expressly mentioned in the acknowledgments of my collection catalog (as is Alexander Lauterwasser, "Search: Lauterwasser").
