Commissioned work, fine art print on acrylic glass, format 50 x 50 cm. "Artificial intelligence" (AI) and the associated algorithms for image recognition in autonomous driving were the inspiration for this depiction. The image is a reversal of these processes and a depiction of artificial, intelligent learning processes, it is a mathematical optimization process based on thousands of images - in this case of turtles. The result is unique, not repeatable, because the algorithms each lead to a different outcome. He generously printed out a number of other turtle variants on paper for me. The image has a slightly psychedelic effect and has a surprising side effect: if you turn it once to the right, with a little imagination you can discover a "Blue Horse" in a perspective like Franz Marc, with the head turned to the left, looking over the back. Thanks to his extraordinary commitment to the Virtual Turtle Museum (see also the acknowledgements in my extensive catalog), we have been connected by a remarkable friendship for some time now.
