I became aware of the artist in particular through her large Butoh sculptures at exhibitions. She worked for a long time in the field of graphic design and trained in sculpture and drawing, including with Gustav Mayer (who in turn studied with Paolozzi and Zacharias). There I was fascinated by their technique and came up with this commissioned work made of wire, hemp fibers and plaster. During the project we had good discussions, for example about Japanese culture, including the meaning of the Minogames and their algae tails. She worked very intensively on the topic, made a number of sketches and experimented with designs (see further images). The object stands out very well thanks to the contrast on black linen. That's why I took the photo in her studio when it was handed over.
