Banknote from Colombia depicting islands that are home to the large sea turtle (1,000 pesos are around € 0.23). The security elements are modest here. This is fundamentally different for the banknote from Malaysia (below). The artist did this on behalf of Giesecke & Devrient (G + D Currency Technology, Munich), one of the world's leading companies with its own high-security wing. The manufacture of banknotes is graphically difficult, technically complex and technically very demanding. Even the artist could not purchase a ticket from the production (20 RM / Ringgit Malaysia corresponds to approx. 4 €). In between, a photo of the graphic artist I took. He has meticulously designed both the front and the back. The drafts are created on paper, the work of the designer team takes place on the computer. It is also interesting that the country's central bank does not have a motif with butterflies wanted because this only lived a short time. In my collection there is also an original etching from his hand.
