commissioned work; Thanks to the recommendation of my friend Hermann Bigelmayr and various exhibitions, I was impressed by the artist's imaginative sculptures. He trained as a church painter (the baroque influence is often visible) and studied at the Munich Art Academy (master student
with Prof. Günther Fruhtrunk). He is also intensively interested in philosophy. At times a reference to Mel Ramos is noticeable. His figures are first developed graphically, modeled with kaolin-containing porcelain clay (but not fired), processed with fine sandpaper and sensitively painted with watercolors, size 34 cm. This motif is also available as an interesting exhibition poster.
In 2020, he extremely carefully restored the damage I accidentally caused to the object. The dedication in his beautiful catalog is
a loosely sketched turtle attached. By the way, a total of 4 artists from my collection studied with Prof. Fruhtrunk (who was honored by major museums in Munich and Bonn on his 100th birthday in 2023).
