This Japanese mirror (kagami) was a luxury item from the Meiji period (around 1875), made of bronze (an alloy of copper and tin), decorated several times with the symbols for a long life: minogame, crane, pine tree and bamboo. The artist was a master of bronze technology from Osaka, and he self-confidently recorded his name. The handle is wrapped with bamboo. On the highly polished opposite side you can still see each other well today. The original papier-mâché packaging, which is precisely adapted to the shape of the mirror, and the foldable wooden stand are also original. Diameter 24 cm plus handle 10 cm.
