The basic idea was to use an existing cuneiform tablet (which I had brought back from Babylon as a young man) as a turtle shell after it was proven to be a fake. The commission was given to Angelika Maria Stiegler (search: Stiegler). The base, which is visible here as a test, was made by the artist (2013) for an object in which an upturned buffalo horn shell serves as the shell (see sculptures). Incidentally, the Babylonians saw a turtle in the constellation of Cancer, as did the ancient Egyptians.
