The strong work "Sisyphos" by Andreas Kuhnlein (here on a postcard from him) represents an important figure from Greek mythology. In antiquity there were various assumptions to his punishment to repeatedly roll a bunk block up the mountain. A diverse interpreted topic in art and literature, from antiquity to the present day. Examples are painting on an amphora around 530 BC. BC or a painting by Franz v. Stuck's (1920) or texts by Homer or Camus. In our language use today, "Sisyphean work" is an arduous, often unsuccessful work. But "with art comes moving in the minds", a quote from Dr. B. Löffler. This inspired me in 2025 to make a small collage (21 x 12 cm) from A. Kuhnlein's representation, with a few interventions and with its agreement. In my thoughts, the turtle manages to laboriously climb the mountain with the help of Sisyphos. Therefore the selected title "The goal is only available with effort".
