Since the 1990s, I have been pursuing the work of the exceptional imaging - also thanks to the close contact with Hermann Bigelmayr - with great attention and now has 8 catalogs. He rarely accepts commissioned work. So he had been in mind to think about it longer. So of course he was happy to call, with the tight information that he has an idea and the title is "turtle hike". After Completion in December 2024 we made an appointment on his stately farm in Unterwössen. It became a long, very pleasant visit and I was immediately enthusiastic about his brilliant solution. It is a finely differentiated work, expressively worked with chainsaw, made of elm wood, height 113 cm, depth 34 x 30 cm. I often look at the graceful woman, always with pleasure. She seems to be completely with herself, hikes relaxed and still courageously, with the recess that is characteristic of him ("left where the heart is"). In my opinion, she lovingly wears the turtle like a child on her back and she is confident. Briefly summarized: It is an extraordinary enrichment of my collection. The artist has been a freelance sculptor since 1983, with an almost incredible productivity. He achieved great attention through countless international and national solo exhibitions. Here are only three examples: Luoyang (China, with a professorship at the art academy there), then the large -scale installation "The Narrative Ship" in Traunstein (plus the quote from Dr. Birgit Löffler: "Andreas Kuhnlein is a visionary" in the 2020 catalog) and the spectacular comparison of 16 specially created works on the ancient sculptures in the Glyptothek, Munich (Catalog 2016). The Bayer. In 2018, television devoted him to the program "Lebenslinien" (see Mediathek) and, in addition to various awards, he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2022. In his latest catalog "What is man?" (Sculptures 1985 - 2025, 93 pages) the "turtle migration" is already shown. Current exhibitions 2025: "Power and transience", on the occasion of the 1,000 - Year's anniversary of the city of Burghausen, accessible in three courtyards of the world's longest castle. He is also a curator of the State Garden Show in the Austrian Baroque City of Schärding. He created two large sculptures for the remarkable exhibition.
